The SLX is the ultra high aspect range for speed, slalom and racing. Whether windsurf or wing foil racing, the SLX offers a wide wind range, lots of low-end power to keep foiling through crowded buoys and the highest top speeds. The SLX wings are the second Starboard Foils wing collection to use Martin Fischer and Mathieu Durand's ground-breaking automated optimisation method. With aspect ratios ranging from 11-15, the parameters we entered into the auto-optimiser came from analysing common racing conditions for each wing size.
Extremely radical in shape, the parameters entered into the auto-optimising computer couldn't be simpler: maximum speed. These ultra-high aspect wings with relatively thick sections, smooth organic curves, significant twist and extremely thin tips are what came out. Ready to Race.
